The 2018 NBA All-Star Weekend was a landmark event for the NBA Voices campaign. We brought together players, fans, and community leaders to promote social justice and equality through a multimedia platform that led to one of the most powerful halftime shows the NBA has ever hosted, featuring a stirring performance by the Grammy-nominated Hip Hop artist Common and the R&B soul singer Andra Day, who performed their hit song "Stand Up for Something" to a packed arena. Common and Day's lyrics spoke to the need for people to stand up for what they believe in and work together to make a difference in their communities. Along with Dwayne Wade, Karl Anthony Towns, Sue Bird, Kemba Walker, Grant Hill, Kareem Abdoul-Jabar and Bill Russell their message of unity and inclusivity brought people together around a shared mission of promoting equality and justice for all.
